Botswana's climate is semi-arid. Although hot and dry for much of the year, the rains fall during the summer months. Precipitation tends to be erratic and unpredictable: heavy downpours can occur in one area, while 10 or 15 km away it is not raining.

Sanidad - Vacunas

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers over one year of age from or who have passed through countries at risk of yellow fever. There is a risk of malaria. It is advisable to keep one's official vaccination schedule up to date. Rift Valley advises you to consult with international immunization centers prior to travelling.


For tourist stays of less than 90 days, holders of Spanish passports do not need a visa.


The national currency is the Pula. The euro, other European currencies and the US dollar are generally accepted.
