Viajar a Chad

Chad is known as a frontier country, still wild. Travelling to Chad means travelling to the Ennedi and Tibesti deserts, for example, which are the most complete (oases, fauna, engravings and cave paintings, rock formations, dunes, ethnic groups, etc.) in the Sahara.Lake Chad and the south of the country are little explored regions with great ethnographic and wildlife potential. The Zakouma National Park is a highlight, with large herds of elephants and giraffes, the last ones in Central Africa.Travelling to Chad can be synonymous with experiencing the Gerewol festival first-hand, one of the most curious and colourful beauty pageants in Africa. An annual procession of the semi-nomadic Wodaabe people where young men adorn themselves to attract the attention of young brides.Another major attraction of travelling to Chad is the mythical Ennedi Desert, where gigantic rock formations emerge from the sand in a landscape filled with rock paintings and azure lakes.
